The Villa Cafe in Ngaio is expanding into evenings—and we’re looking for a passionate Chef to help shape this new chapter.

Hours: Must be available Thursday to Saturday evenings, possible catering opportunities mid-week depending on demand

We're a warm, inclusive community hub where we aim to make everyone feel at home. Our ethos is simple: serve honest, delicious food made with fresh, local produce. Now, we want to bring that same heart and quality to relaxed, welcoming evening service.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Designing and preparing a simple, seasonal menu for evening service
• Running the kitchen with support of one Kitchen Hand (depending on demand)
• Managing food prep, cooking, and plating with care and consistency
• Weekly ordering of ingredients
• Working closely with our team to create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere
• Ensuring food hygiene and kitchen standards are maintained

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• Has strong experience as a chef or cook in a professional kitchen
• Cares about good ingredients and simple, thoughtful food
• Is comfortable working independently and taking initiative
• Brings creativity and flexibility to a developing menu
• Loves being part of a community space with soul
